Final Cut plugin: Gradients with transparency

In which I provide a free Final Cut generator that adds opacity controls to the built-in Custom Gradient generator.

While working on my next plugin, I needed a reliable way of creating gradients with opacity controls on the start and finish colours. Here’s Custom Gradient – Alex4D:
custom_gradient_default

I also added a radius control for the radial gradients:
custom_gradient_rad_screen
custom_gradient_rad_settings

When is this coming out on AE?

I’m not much of a programmer, so we’ll have to wait until Adobe implement the Final Cut Scripting language in AE CS 2011…

I imagine it wouldn’t be a big problem implementing this in Noise Industries’ FxFactory, but I don’t think they allow the distribution of free plugins for their system.

  2. Awesome Alex! I’ve been looking for this for a long time. If I had one more request, could you make all the Shapes with an alpha channel?

      I probably will!

I haven’t used those generators for a long time, I assumed they did have an alpha channel. Odd that they don’t! Maybe it’s because they were first coded when computers were too slow to have lots of alpha channel layers.
